President - Mary Castleberry

Mary Castleberry retired from State Service in 2005 from the Department of State Health Services.   She returned to state service in 2006 and currently serves as the training manager for the Certification Leadership team in the Center for Learning and Organizational Excellence at the Department of Family and Protective Services.
 
She is a member of the Links, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and has been a member of Executive Women in Texas Government  since 2002. Mary is a past president of the Austin chapter of the American Society for Training and Development and serves as a Sunday school teacher at the St. James Baptist Church.
 
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Bishop College, certification from Texas Woman’s University’s Special Education Certification Program and is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Texas. Contact:  pres@ewtg.org
 

President-Elect - Liza Chen Willmore

Liza Chen Willmore, a University of Texas graduate in Economics, is the Section Coordinator for the Legislative Processing/Review section at the Texas Legislative Council (TLC). In this role, she is responsible for managing a team of reviewers, legislative analysts, and processing and delivery staff to ensure quality control and distribution of bill drafts and legislation. She also serves the dual role of Document Production Division Project Manager supervising the legislative application developments and policy updates between individual business units and the IT division. In addition to her work, Liza was awarded the 2006 Outstanding Woman in Texas Government Award for helping other women in state government pursue education, professional development and career advancement. She has been a dedicated member in Executive Women in Texas Government since 2006. In 2007, she played a key role on the program committee in planning the conference logistics and organizing the 35 moderators and speakers for workshop sessions. In 2008, Liza served as the 2008 EWTG Public Relations Director which established substantial media partnerships which resulted in a record-breaking number of conference attendees. In the role of Communications Director in 2010, Liza gathered real-time web analytics and created a communication forum where members and industry professionals could collaborate. When Liza stepped back onto the board in 2012, she took both her public relations and communications experience and introduced a new layer to the organization's communication strategy and visibility through Google+. Through her introduction of our Google+ social layer, Executive Women in Texas Government is now an interactive learning environment where participants can attend free education sessions and live interviews through Google+ to continue their learning from home or the office. Vice-President - Jennifer Dormer

Jennifer Dormer is a Business Analyst with the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). She has been in her current position for the last 9 months supporting the Accounting Department.  Before that she was an Accounting Lead for DADS.  She began her career in state government in 1996 working at the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

She became a member of EWTG in 2009 and has served EWTG as the Evaluation Committee Chair in 2009, Board Treasurer in 2010, Board Finance Officer in 2011, and the Resolutions Committee Chair and Registration Committee member in 2012. Jennifer has an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Business Administration from Austin Community College and will be graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from St. Edward’s University in the summer of 2013.    Contact:

Financial Officer – Shawana Ellison 

Shawana Ellison is a Financial Systems Analyst with the Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). She has been in her current position for the last 3 years supporting the Health and Human Services Administrative System (HHSAS) which is an adaptation of the Comptroller's Integrated Statewide Administrative System (ISAS) version of PeopleSoft Financials. She began her career in state government in 2005 after working 13 years at a medical center in Longview, TX.

A EWTG member since 2006, Shawana has served as a EWTG Conference workshop moderator and conference volunteer in 2006, EWTG Executive Success Team (The Kindergartners) Member in 2007 and Team Lead since 2008, EWTG Conference Exhibits Chair in 2008, EWTG Affiliates Director Board Member in 2009, EWTG Nominating Board Committee Member in 2009, Power Pipeline Member since 2010, Education Events Committee Member in 2010 & 2011, and Mini-Course Program Committee Member in 2011. Shawana has an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Computer Science from Kilgore College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Leadership both from LeTourneau University.  Contact:  finance@ewtg.org.

 
 

Secretary-Treasurer - Deborah Shaw-Boatner

Deborah Shaw-Boatner is a Business Systems Analyst with the State Comptroller's Office.  She serves as a Quality Assurance Test Coordinator, supporting the Project Management Office in implementing various projects across multiple divisions.  Deborah has worked for various state agencies in accounting, auditing and management during her more than 30 years of state service.  

A EWTG member since 2005, Deborah has served as an EWTG Annual Conference workshop moderator for several past conferences, Facilitator of the 'Red Wine and Blue' EWTG Executive Success Team in 2006, Chair of the Scholarship Committee in 2008, member of the Development Committee in 2011, member of the Finance Committee in 2007 and 2012, Community Services Committee in 2009 and the 2012 Mini Course Luncheon Committee.

Deborah is a graduate of the Leadership Texas 2006.  She is very proud of being one of the founding members of the Austin Chapter of the National Association of Black Accountants where she served as President. She received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting at the University of Texas at Austin and earned her Certified Public Accountant license in 1983.  Contact: treas@ewtg.org.

 

Affiliates Director - Dee McIlroy

Dee McIlroy retired from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts (CPA) in 2011.  She split her state service, half as a Senior Program Analyst for CPA and prior as a Systems Analyst for the Texas Legislative Council.  Dee is currently enjoying her retirement, spending time with her family, traveling, and performing volunteer work for various organizations.

She has been an active member of EWTG since 1997. Past service with the organization has included 2001-02 Membership Director, 2010 Public Relations Director, 2004 Conference Registration Chair, Executive Success Team (EST) member and lead, and as member of many committees. Communications Director – Tanya Skaarup

Tanya Skaarup been recently joined the Texas Department of Resources after previously working for the Office of the Attorney General in the Child Support Division for 6 years.  Tanya became a member of EWTG in 2009 and has been actively involved since; first on the Silent Auction Committee in 2010, then on the Conference Exhibits Committee for 2011, and most recently as the 2012 Vice President and Conference Chair.  She brings to this role an extensive list of accomplishments and honors from both private and federal sectors. The achievement of which she is most proud is the Civilian Patriotic Service Award presented to her in 2001 in Heidelberg, Germany for her exemplary Program Management and communication abilities that were critical in effectively performing two key family initiative programs for USAEUR Department of Defense - Army.
 
As a certified PMP since 2000, Tanya remains involved with the Project Management Institute (PMI) on an international level, and in her free time supports the Capitol Area Food Bank (CAFB), Austin Safe Place, and recently became involved with the Austin Women in Technology organization.  Equally active in her community, she volunteers her at the Wells Branch School, and serves on her neighborhood HOA Board of Directors.

Membership Director - Teresa Cabral

Teresa Cabral has been employed with the state of Texas for 14 years which includes 7 years at the Office of the Attorney General in Crime Victims Services as a Manager.  Teresa became a member of EWTG in 2010 and immediately joined the Development Committee, the Exhibit Committee and also an Executive Success Team.  In 2011, Teresa joined the Development Committee and the Affiliate Committee. She served as members of these committees.  During the 2012 EWTG Conference, she served as a moderator for two different class sessions.  Teresa is currently in the Texas Leadership Program, class 2012-the best class ever, and looks forward to graduating on November 17, 2012.

Teresa has obtained a B.S in Psychology from Morgan State University and has studied in the Masters Applied Behavioral Science Program at Johns Hopkins University.  She has been a Catechist Teacher at Saint Williams Catholic Church in Round Rock for the last 7 years.  Teresa enjoys learning and looks forward to opportunities to broaden her horizons.  Contact: membership@ewtg.org.

 
 
 

Program Director - Dokpe Ogunsanya

Dokpe Lillian Ogunsanya is the CEO of Dupsy Enterprises, a Consulting and Publishing Corporation.  She joined EWTG in 2008 and has been actively involved at various capacities with the following committees: Executive Success Teams, Communications, Programs, Mini Course and Conference.    She served the State of Texas for over ten years and was also gainfully employed in the private sector before starting her own company. She earned a master’s degree in Public Administration, two undergraduate degrees in Computer Science and Mass Communications and graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Whereas her professional careers and formal education are in administration and technology: entrepreneurship, writing and cooking are her passion. Dokpe is a Motivational Speaker, Life Coach, Consultant, and noted Author of books and framed inspirations.   She has performed book signings at various bookstores all over the country. She was featured in the Austin American Statesman, Television and has received several awards, recognitions, nominations and accolades.  Contact:  program@ewtg.org.

 

Public Relations Director - Julia Schacherl

Julia is currently employed with the Texas Education Agency, and serves as a Business Operations Specialist in the Information Technology Services Division. She began her career at the Texas Legislative Council in the Document Production Division serving as Processing Coordinator/Section Trainer. Julia has been a member of EWTG since 2009. During this time she has served as a member of the Conference Evaluations Committee, the Conference Facilities Committee and is an active participant on her EWTG Success Team, VITALITY.   Julia attended Texas State University where she received her undergraduate degree and her graduate degree in Public Administration.  Contact: PublicRelations@ewtg.org.

 
 
 

Mini-Course Director - Grace Nobles

Grace M. Nobles began her career over 20 years ago in the Revenue Administration area at the Texas Comptroller’s Office.  She has held various positions from Accounting Clerk to Executive Assistant.  Grace had been in her current position for the last 8 years serving as a Programs Specialist for the Unclaimed Property Division.

Grace has been an EWTG member since 2009; where she has served as on the Silent Auction Committee in 2008 and Program Committee in 2009.  In 2010 and 2011 she proudly served as Chair of the Programs Committee for the EWTG Annual Conference.  Grace attended Indiana University in Bloomington, IN., majoring in Telecommunications/Broadcast Journalism.  Grace has established a ‘glowing’ reputation in Central Texas as the owner/operator of her own beauty consultant business. She enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family. She is the proud mother of two, and even prouder grandmother of her beautiful 2 year old granddaughter!
