President's Corner |
|
Members, we’re almost done preparing for the 2017 EWTG Annual Professional Development Conference – only three weeks to go! By now, I hope you’re registered and ready for Sunday evening’s festivities and a fun, busy, educational day on Monday, November 20. The conference committee, led by our Vice President Karen Howard, has a very special time planned for you. With speakers like Dr. Steve Murdock and Pamela Benson Owens, it's sure to be an interesting and informative time not to be missed.
Leading EWTG this year and planning for this conference reminds me that it almost always takes more than one person to accomplish anything worthwhile. All of our conference and regular committees have active members, each with different skill sets to contribute. With the conference committees, in particular, everyone works together to achieve the end goal since it takes cooperation and careful timing to ensure that the right parts come together at the right time.
Come and be a part of EWTG at the Conference. Celebrate the work many, many EWTG members have invested in you and each other. Learn from the many speakers who are volunteering their time to share their experiences and expand your network of hard-working, professional women. Most of all, come and be a part of something larger than yourself. And remember that many women coming to the conference are attending for the first time. Reach out to a few women and welcome them. They may just become our newest members because of something you said or the way you greeted them.
The conference also includes an exhibit area and a silent auction. Between the keynote speakers and sessions, please be sure to visit with our generous sponsors and exhibitors and thank them for their support. By visiting the exhibitor booths and the silent auction, you may discover that special holiday gift you won’t find anywhere else. And there is still time to donate your services or items to the silent auction. See the online form.
We’re planning a very special day for you. If you haven’t registered yet, don’t delay. The start of any professional and personal growth is making that first investment in yourself. You’re worth it!
Clare Dyer
2017 EWTG President

| November Community Service |
Collecting Unsigned Holiday Cards for our Military Personnel During the Conference
Greetings EWTG Members,
During our 31st Annual EWTG Professional Development Conference November 19th and 20th, members of the Community Service Committee are collecting unsigned (mix and match) boxes of holiday cards for troops to send to their loved ones. Deployed troops are given cards during the holiday season by the American Red Cross to share with their family and friends.
The American Red Cross is a volunteer-based nonprofit supporting all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Members may find the holiday boxes of cards at Wal-Mart, Target, HEB, Walgreens, CVS, and Dollar Tree. EWTG is proud to support the American Red Cross through special projects to make a visible difference in the lives of our service members and their families.

| EWTG Silent Auction |
The 31st Annual EWTG Professional Development Conference is rapidly approaching. The Silent Auction is one of the popular featured attractions where many of our members and guests look forward to making their bids. It is an opportunity to do some early holiday shopping, bid on unique gifts with a Texas flare, elegant jewelry to add to your collection, overnight stays at luxury hotels, wine baskets featuring wine produced from a local winery, and other exciting gifts. The proceeds from the silent auction are used to fund the professional development scholarships available to EWTG members to attend various training and educational opportunities.
For the silent auction to be a success, we request and rely on donations from our members and especially our Executive Success Teams (ESTs). To encourage our teams to participate, our newsletter will feature each team that donates items as well as recognizing the team gift that brings in the most money, a unique basket – just to name a few. If you are a business owner, this is also a unique opportunity to advertise your business by placing your business with your item(s) in the Silent Auction.
If you are donating items, complete the Donation Pledge Form. Be sure to specify if you will mail or deliver your donation, or if you want an EWTG member to pick it up. We gladly accept any donation you wish to contribute, especially an item that showcases the goods and services our members businesses offer.
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please email EWTG or call (512) 220-4298. Thank you in advance for your support.
